Within a growing Church they offer a special place of belonging and a means of getting involved quickly. Within our local church network we run a number of courses, including Alpha which is particularly helpful for those enquiring about or just beginning in the Christian faith.
The Martin Wall Funds have been secured to ensure that the wall supporting the Martin Grave area, and The Garden of Remembrance can now be made safe. Full details can be read here.
Prayer & Churches Together in Groby Prayer and CTG go together quite a lot, and the prayer breakfasts are a great way to get to know about the many events and work the churches do together partnership. The prayer breakfasts are also one of the ways in which we can contribute to God’s work in this village. Of course there is a cost.....you have to get up early on a Saturday! And there is a risk, because prayer is something which frequently makes us feel vulnerable. But we vary the styles of prayer and find ways of allowing people to pray in ways which are accessible, comfortable to them and without embarrassment. This is important because we know that prayer works and makes a difference to us and to events, so more than anything we want people to be able pray. We meet at the URC because it is much easier to serve breakfast there afterwards, but it is very much a joint event. Never been? Why not try it, it’s always worth it.
