Parish Records
- The Church Magazines and now the Village Magazines are bound in annual sets and kept in the Vestry. Every few years, [the last time being 2003] they are deposited at the Leicestershire Records Office in Wigston. These offices are an amazing place to visit particularly on a wet afternoon. There is no charge to become a member. Look here for what is available
- Some years ago 'Tommy' Thompson painstakingly produced a book which shows the outline shape of all the Graves in the Graveyard surrounding the Church [this Graveyard is now closed for further burials], where they are situate and details of the engraving on them. This is kept at the back of the Church and anyone wishing to view this for Family History purposes should contact one of the DCC members in order to arrange a convenient time to visit. Alternatively you may contact the writer
- The village also has records originally started by the W.I. These are kept my Janet Neaverson and contain, photographs and memorabilia of all aspects of village life since the WI began eighty years ago.
The late Joan Stevenson wrote many books about the village and edited memories by old residents collected by the WI. These are all still available for purchase from her son Robin's company Kairos Press. Take a look at the site for these books and those by other Authors.
There is a thriving Leicestershire and Rutland Family History Association with library facilities. There may be an annual charge to join them but it is another good wet day amusement
